As part of Covid-19 safety measures, the government requires public facilities such as schools to provide hand sanitizers. Therefore, the primary purposes of this social outreach program are to design an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser that can reduce the potential for spreading the Covid-19 virus in the Tarakanita Gading Serpong High School and provide education on the proper procedure to use hand sanitizer. The dispenser is designed to be operated without direct contact to minimize the chance of transmission of the Covid-19 virus. It is created using a steel frame, a container for holding the sanitizer, a faucet, and a control system. The control system employs an Arduino microcontroller, batteries, and an infrared sensor. The Arduino will automatically adjust the faucet to dispense the optimal amount of sanitizer when the sensor detects the user's hand. After the completion of the design process, the training session for the representatives of teachers and staff of SMA Tarakanita Gading Serpong was carried out. The materials provided during the event included how to properly use hand sanitizers, the dangers of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, and a manual on how to operate and maintain the automatic hand sanitizer dispenser correctly. The evaluation results related to the design aspects of the automated hand sanitizer showed that the device performs its functions as intended, has an attractive appearance, and is comfortable to use. Positive comments were also given by participants of the training event, where information on the proper method for using hand sanitizers was considered very useful during this pandemic. Hopefully, the presence of the automatic hand sanitizer can encourage teachers, employees, and students of Tarakanita Gading Serpong High School to use hand sanitizer regularly and with a proper procedure to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Downloads
